Responded to an incident involving a 40’ ISO tank container full of Formalin (a formaldehyde based chemical) that had been damaged during offloading operations.

Following inspection of the tank container to determine the damage sustained, the team concluded that the cargo needed to be transferred to a second intact tank container. Staff in Level B personnel protective equipment using chemical resistant pumps and hoses successfully transferred the entire cargo.

This cargo presented a significant fire and explosion risk, and air monitoring was conducted throughout all operations.
