Hydrocarbon site remediation on Saadiyat Island in the UAE.
Engaged in January 2008 by a major international construction company and the Government of Abu Dhabi to provide a solution to a site affected by historic unclaimed contamination on Saadiyat Island, future home to numerous residential developments along with golf courses, shopping malls, museums and a number of international cultural attractions.
We were successfully contracted for the year plus long project for carbon filtration and pH adjustment of over 10,000 m3 contaminated ground water after a skimming process along with treatment of more than 50,000 m3 of contaminated sand. The project involved a wide-ranging sampling and analysis program during the treatment phase as well as a long-term monitoring strategy to ensure that the contaminants are removed during the project.
